ND0 RPN Graphing Calculator App Reviews

Excellent calculator and project

All the bad evaluations are really not justified. Go to more basic models, if you have basic needs... This is certainly one of the best current project to develop the next generation all purpose scientific RPN calculator (HP should have done it but they have now unfortunately retired from this market). ND0 and ND1 go beyond the best calculators ever designed by HP (in the 28, 48, 50G series). It is easier to use, has great programming features, is faster. The author seems very responsive. If you are a scientist or an engineer this is definitely an excellent choice. The only missing feature for me is the CAS, but the interface with Wolfram solves partly this issue. A built in 50G CAS and this would become the dream machine... The ND1 version is really cheap given all the features (unlimited stack, ...) A new HP50G is +100€...

liked

looks like it has some little bugs, but i loved the idea and specially its gratuity. Ill explore more and test this week and give you some accurate feedback. Thanks for the app!!! hope you suport it

Dificult

I have an HP 39GS and this one is too hard to use and has too much advises. Every click one no sense advise.

Wow!

The most comprehensive and configurable/programmable rpn calculator app that ive come across for free. You can play with it endlessly!

Utter failure.

Giving this app one star is very generous. This calc is so freaking confusing I cant even figure out how to even add numbers. It keeps giving me BS errors. Sure it has directions but I cant even access those! I click on them and it does nothing. Im in calculus right now and i understand that better than this crap. This failure of an app is worthless. FOR GOD SAKE! LEAVE THIS APP AND NEVER RETURN!!

Totally cool!

Non disclosure.... I love HP calculators and RPN. I did my undergrade in EE with an HP-45... My grad school with an HP-15C. I now have an HP-35S and a 50g. This app is awsome. Ive only gone through the basic tutorials on the ND0, and admit to being a newbie to the iPod touch, where I got it.... but this application is just freaking amazing! Ill no doubt buy the ND1! Ive written, just for fun, some wxWindows emulators for the 15C. But this app rocks! Highly recommended for anyone who understands that RPN is the easy way to go... lol!

Great App.

I grew up with RPN calculators. Now since I have an iPhone I don’t have to carry the old HP 28C with me. This APP replaces it. As long as I am concerned it was worth to get the iPhone just for this. Thank you. I read the reviews. I you are looking for a calculator application, please look up “RPN calculator” on Wikipedia before downloading and reviewing. Once you learned the RPN method you may realize its numerous advantages.

This is a great app!

This is a powerful and well written program. Dont mind the freak who gave a one-star. He will fail his calculus course. I have a high standard on the calculators I use. Before this program, the only two calculators I feel like using is the calc-mode in emacs and the i41cx emulator in iPhone (which is so freaking expansive!). I have not used much features in this calculator but I see it as a strong competitor to those two. Thank the author for this awesome program and making it free!

Cool

Plz fix errors when I put a multiplication problem it gives an error still cool app

Great RPN

So far it works beautifully. All of your functions are present and as easy to find and use as can be expected given the number of functions to deal with. Good documentation too.

Great RPN Calculator

For those looking for a Reverse Polish Notation (RPN) calculator emulating HP RPN calculators with a viewable stack, this is the app. For those uninformed, RPN calculators do not use an equal sign as the operator follows the operand. Please do not downgrade this app if you are only familiar with more common calculators that use an equal sign (=) and parentheses (( )).

A fine RPN calculator.

This is the nicest app Ive found to date, perhaps partly for reasons of nostalgia. If you dont know RPN, learn about it first before scrapping this app. Folks clearly arent rating this app according to its capability, but rather according to what they expect from a standard calculator. Thankfully, this isnt standard. Reminds me of my phenomenal 20-year-old HP. Kudos to the author! Great work here, and kindness for giving it away.

Awesome

Helps with my math Homework needing postfix notation.

Very unique

If youre into RPN calculators, you get that here. Plus some unique concepts & features, which take time to learn. Remember, its not a normal calculator. If you want an easy, regular calculator, its NOT this one.

Nope

Im a big fan of RPN calculators, just not this one.

Help is buggy

The help menu is launched for no apparent reason. There is no way to navigate back to the calculator. I had to reload the app. After the third time I gave up.

Awesome and Ad-Free.

Excellent capabilities. This program is a generous gift to society. And it has thorough documentation.

Others much better

Non-intuitive, difficult to set up, poor help, almost totally unlike a HP if you are a HP fan like I am, simply not worth the effort to use. Much better options out there

Visionary App - RPN on Steroids

I wrote the following review for the ND1, but it is equally applicable to the NDO: In one of several default/static modes, the latest release of ND1/ND0 (1.5) is arguably the best RPN calculator app available on any mobile platform. (Trust me, I know. I have owned HP/RPN calculators since my HP-45 decorated my belt in High School. Dont tell my kids friends. . .) Out of the box, the ND1/ND0 provides a significant subset of the functionality of the HP 48/50 class calculators. But rather than being just another emulator, fixated on replicating the "classics" and repeating the past, the ND1/ND0 pushes forward. It is as much of a calculator development platform as a calculator. It is extremely configurable. Not only can one reconfigure the keyboard and its keys, but one can affix one owns code to any key. Moreover, this can be done in native RPL+, in JavaScript or in combination. As a result, the ND1/ND0 is able to work with a wide variety of classes, including the traditional numeric classes, but also BigInts, Rationals, Complex, Colors and Images. (Classes, as well as other customizations, can easily be created by the user and shared with the broader ND1/ND0 community.) Here-to-fore, my favorite RPN iPhone app has been the HP 42s (which I rate 4 *s). Though its an amazing replica of the original, the project is focused on recreating the 42s, as opposed to pushing forward. Though superbly engineered, it was done at a time when dynamic reconfigurability of the keyboard/functionality was limited. In contrast, the ND1/ND 0 is easily reconfigured. Currently, I am taking a Chemistry course, so I wanted a 42s type calculator that has physical constants built-in. I was easily able to reconfigure the ND1/ND0 to do so. Moreover, for my day job, I wanted to include a core-set of financial functions, which I was also able to easily add. As impressed as I am with ND1/ND0 in its current incarnation, I believe the best is yet to come. I believe that the developers of ND1/ND0 will continue to focus on configurability and expandability. Lest you feel intimidated by all of the power of the ND1/ND0, dont be. As I mentioned, it is ready to go right out of the box, but its nice to know if one wants to make "tweaks" that these can be easily accomplished.

cheers to HP

This is a great leap for mankind.
